At the Red Star Line Museum — a place shaped by stories of people who left in search of another life — Dawn Lundy Martin and Simon(e) van Saarloos will read from their own work. They will then talk about the political and social climate around gender in the United States.

What happens when trans and queer lives become the focus of increasingly intense political battles? And what can we learn from what is happening in the US for the work that lies ahead here in Europe?

Tammie Schoots will facilitate the conversation. Our friends from BelGeo are serving you brunch. BelGeo Fusion VZW is an Antwerp-based socio-cultural organisation that brings people together through culture, connection and solidarity. They build bridges between communities, with particular attention to LGBTQIA+ refugees, migrants and others in vulnerable situations.
