BOYSPROJECT + AMINE + LA CHARTREUSE + LES ÂMES PERDUES
Tuesday we make room for a talk by Boysproject (BE), one of the Antwerp Pink House most appreciated member organizations. Boysproject is a social organization for male and transgender sex workers, M$M, payboys, escorts, gigolos, t-girls, $hemales, masseurs … Pride week is pointless if we would not talk in depth about the struggles they face and what we as a community can do.
After the talk we serve you two short movies on the big screen in the concert hall: Amine, an award-winning film directed and written by Noha Choukrallah (BE) and La Chartreuse, directed and written by Korée Wilrycx (BE).
Amine is pushed by his father to become a free-diving champion, but the young man is more attracted to synchronized swimming. Choukrallah thematizes male identity in a poetic movie that puts water and fluidity at the very heart of it.
La Chartreuse tells the story of a young woman, Anna, who moves in with her ex-lover, an older man. She discovers that he's married and wanting to confront his wife, she visits her. Gradually they grow closer together.
The films will be followed by a Q&A with both directors, moderated by Fleur Pierets.
No queer arts festival without a good portion of classical music with a big twist. Les Âmes Perdues (BE), a music theatre collective consisting of the multi-talented Isaak Duerinck, Naomi Beeldens and Ewout Lehoucq, will bring you Eurovisionary. A dive into 65 years of Eurovision song contest. Ding-a-dong!
